Mom, We Need to Talk, Part 1

It's been a struggle for some time now to help my mom come to terms that I'm both gay, and a Christian who just so happens to be in love and is getting married to the most wonderful man anybody could ask for. That is why I've decided to write her a very difficult, personal letter. I've also decided to make this personal letter public, as an open letter for all mothers who can't seem to accept their child the way God made them. Pop culture loves giving labels and puns to fans of music artist – from Swifties to Little Monsters and Beyhive to Beliebers, these people live, breath and worship these stars. Not long after Christ's death and resurrection, what started off as small group of 12, multiplied to hundreds, thousands, and millions. Much in the same way, puns and labels were used back then too – it was at that time that they were first called Christians.
