is god truly angry? you can call it the wrath of god... but on a deeper level, we need to understand that we are punished by our sins, than for our sins.
– Brian Zahnd

"Brian Zahnd, founder and lead pastor of Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, joins Scott and Jon this week to chat about his new book Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God. This book is theologically rich and explores a number of concepts that the Church is rethinking today: biblical literalism, the doctrine of hell, the doctrine of salvation and so much more. Scott and Jon dive into these topics and more in their discussion with Brian. Brian's new book releases today."

about the Holy Heretics Podcast

"We are two guys who once pastored full-time in the Evangelical Church, but then we left. We left because we believe that the Jesus message is bigger than just one religious expression, Christianity included. We like to refer to the Jesus message as the Christ consciousness. We believe this Christ consciousness is a way of seeing and being in the world that's not really concerned at all with doctrines and dogmas. We are inclusive, peace-loving, ordained ministers for the reconciliation of all people and all things. We believe in drawing circles of inclusion and not lines of division. We care nothing about converting anyone to a particular religion. We just want to help people see, be, and live wholly in the world. We are also a bit irreverent and church clothes just don't fit us too well. And yet, we still identify as mostly Christian, but we believe that word and ideology has been hijacked by American Evangelicalism and we would really like to help reclaim it."
