The 2018 Bro. Bear Blog Gift Guide
Hunny! Here’s your top 10 fresh and fabulous holiday gift ideas for the queer Christians and allies in your life.
If you know me then you know that the Christmas season is my favorite holigay season. I love the lights, the trees, the love and cheer, but what I especially like are the gifts we give and receive! It’s not always easy to find the perfect present, so I decided to give you some ideas that would give the queer Christian in your life (or anybody for that matter) some holiday cheer.
I’ve made my list and checked it twice, here’s some of my favorite thing whether you’re naught or nice:
10. Monopoly The Golden Girls Board Game
When the homos get together for game night, The Golden Girls edition of Monopoly needs to be a staple. This cleverly detailed board game is best played with a slice of cheesecake, a billowing satin robe, and touch of sass.
9. ‘God Made Me Flawless’ Tee
Don you some gay apparel! Show that you are fearfully, beautifully and wonderfully made - just the way you are! God doesn't make mistakes.
8. Henri Bendel Holiday Candle Trio
Bad news: Established in 1895, the luxury brand is closing its doors, which also means their amazing candles will be gone too. Good news: stock up on their candles while they’re still around, and snag the holiday candle trio set as a gift.
7. Jennifer Knapp Album
Love Comes Back Around pairs Jennifer’s fearless songwriting and strong, expressive voice with rootsy arrangements: “It’s not just sex, it’s not just physical relationships,” Knapp says. “It’s hard work. It’s loss, it’s forgiveness, it’s a lot of things wrapped up in one.”
6. Moschino Pool Slides Furry Teddy
A necessary addition to the bear’s wardrobe, or any wardrobe for that matter. Slip it on for around-the-house chores or have your pool boy fetch it for you as you sip a martini.
5. ‘No Fear in Love’ Tote
The "There is no Fear in Love" tote boldly states your support for unconditional love. Stand out against homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and Islamophobia. Ready-to-carry for your groceries, or, as a passive-aggressive gift bag to your conservative family members.
4. ‘Kitschmasland!’ by Modern Bear
Category is: Christmas retro realness! If you’re obsessed with mid-century holiday decor as I am, this book is a must. “This beautiful revised book covers the gamut of decorations - some whimsical, some beautiful - and a treasure trove of campy kitsch that the author calls ‘Kitschmas!’”
3. Love is Love Ornament by HRC
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) holiday ornament adds the perfect amount of sparkle to a tree while stating the truth: love is love. Also, glitter!
2. Tickets to Q Christian Conference
For the person who has it all, or, anybody for that matter – get them tickets to the upcoming “Love Undivided” Q Christian Conference! This yearly conference gathers queer christians and their allies to the table for fellowship and inspiration. Can we say halleloo?
1. ‘Boy Erased’ Book
You’ve seen the Boy Erased movie (if not shame on you), now do your life a favor and get a book for yourself and a friend. With many more gut-wrenching accounts, this memoir literally made ma laugh, cry, and want to cut a bitch.
